Busan Geumgok Urban High-tech Industrial Complex Development Project was developed under the Busan City's policy of fostering high-tech industries such as knowledge and information communication, revitalizing the local economy, nurturing young talent, and creating jobs for local residents since 2015.
Busan City and Amicogen Co., Ltd. signed an MoU of 180 billion won and announced plans to establish R&D and business facilities for bio-health industry-related companies.
The developer, Geumgok Venture Valley, invited 5 of the leading design firms in Korea to conduct a limited architectural design competition in 2021 in order to establish the Master plan and architectural design which will be the center of the IT and bio-industry and the landmark in Busan.
The district unit plan with a total area of 46,264㎡ was divided into an industrial facility zone, a complex zone for business facilities, and a residential zone. Developing the integrated Master plan that connects 5 separated sites with various programs including an apartment complex was challenged.
APPIA Architects, SAU Architects, and Hyundai Architects & Engineers Associates proposed the scheme of site planning, building design, and urban design with a total floor area of 313,919㎡ for helping to reshape northern Busan by connecting the long-separated neighborhoods surrounding Nakdong riverfront and Geumgok hillside community.
Designed with an emphasis on simplicity, the towers are a timeless addition to the Geumgok skyline. In order to provide first-class office spaces, the design incorporates flexible floor plates, highly efficient systems, and an unobstructed river view.
Site Area : 37,053 sm
Gross Area : 313,919 sm
Program : Mixed-Use
Scope of Work : Arch. Design / Landscape / Interior Design
